(1) Equipment for Centers – To improve working conditions for women and/or to increase the speed and quality of products Manna occasionally provides centers with lighting, sewing machines, and other equipment. The needs vary, but many centers would benefit from equipment.
TOTAL NEED: $500-$1,000 per center
(2) Educational Events – Educating women about daily life skills (nutrition, budgeting, etc.) requires bringing a specialist to a center. Each such event can cost approximately $75-$100. Business training for women and the Manna leadership are more expensive because we need to bring participants from different parts of the island. One national event can cost approximately $800 - $1,000.
TOTAL NEED: $75-100/per local event
$800-1,000/per National event
(3) Product Production – Currently we are not able to give women continuous orders which means their salary is interupted for weeks at a time during the year. We are hoping to increase production so that women can continue to work throughout the year. This would also enable us to increase the stock of products available so that we can better meet demand in a timely manner. $50 can keep one woman working full-time for approximately one month.
TOTAL NEED: $50/per month-per woman
